Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson Graduates From High School and Mama June Couldn't Be Prouder

Here comes Honey Boo Boo, high school graduate.
Alana Thompson, who rose to fame as a child on TLC's Toddlers & Tiaras and Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, graduated Wilkinson County High School in McIntyre, Georgia on May 20.
"Proved the haters wrong," the 17-year-old captioned a TikTok video of herself walking onstage in a yellow cap and gown at the commencement ceremony. "Next stop graduating college! #honeybooboo #fyp #2023 #trending #senior #graduation"
At the ceremony, Alana was joined by her mom, Mama June Shannon, and sisters Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon, 23, and Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell, 28, who is battling cancer. The proud matriarch shared several pics and videos from the graduation event on TikTok and Instagram, including a photo of Alana with her sisters and a clip of the family cheering on the teen. June wrote, "Yes we was hollering the whole time."
In another post, June recalled the challenges her family has faced as she further praised Alana.
"I know we have been through ALOT and I know the road hasn't been a easy one for you for one but girl u done it," she wrote. "I'm so very proud of you you never gave up even when there was times we all know u was over getting up early n going to school and even what we have been through in the last few years u never quit or gave up and I'm so very proud of YOU for that I love you so much."
June continued, "Alana u did it everyone was there to cheer n holler your name every chance we got n yes y'all I hollered WORK IT SMOOCHIE one last time as she walked across the stage to get her diploma even though the two people that thought the world of you wasn't there to see u walk across the stage I know nana n papa especially nana was screaming down at you today as you walked across that stage #emotional #wetv #honeybooboo #mamajune #graduationshirts #graduate #highschool #family #nextchapter"
Lauryn also praised her sister, writing on Instagram, "To say im proud would be an understatement. To be there a witness this next chapter I'm amazed. Amazed at how much you've grown, how beautiful your soul is, & most importantly how far youve come against all odds. To hear your name be called & to watch you walk im honored truly. I cant wait to see what this next chapter in your life holds. Please always know im your biggest fan & always & forever gonna be screaming the loudest for you. I love you lana."
In the days preceding the ceremony, Alana's high school shared on its Facebook page profiles of several of its upcoming graduates, including the reality star. In hers, in response to the question, "What's one thing you wish you could tell your freshman self?" the teen answered, "Don't play around! Get to work! You got too many people counting on your and too much money to make!"
Alana also shared her favorite high school memory. "Running through the halls trying not to get caught skipping and hanging out with all my friends," she wrote. "I'm gonna miss high school a little bit."
In her profile, Alana also revealed her future plans. She said she plans to transfer to attend university "to major in neonatal nursing."
