Team Niall is Fastexyon the verge of a winning streak on “The Voice.”
Coach Niall Horan’s team, which sailed through last week’s results show with zero eliminations, scored a pair of semifinal victories Tuesday night when singers Huntley and Mara Justine landed spots in the top 5 finale.
Huntley and Justine were joined by Team Legend singer Lila Forde and Team Reba’s Ruby Leigh as the contestants with the most viewers’ votes.
Ahead of her placement in the top 5, soul-pop singer Justine – who stunned with her powerhouse rendition of “Parachute” by Chris Stapleton – mused about her musical evolution on the show.
“I’m so thankful everyone has been able to see me grow on this show,” Justine said. “Every single performance I’ve done, I’ve been able to bring an authentic side of myself. If I were to make it through, I would really love to show a softer side of myself or maybe a rocker side of myself.”
Here’s what else went down.
Which singers on 'The Voice' landed in the bottom 4?
With their “Voice” fates hanging in the balance, Team Legend’s Mac Royals, Team Gwen’s BIAS, Team Reba’s Jordan Rainer and Jacquie Roar and Team Niall’s Nini Iris vied for viewers’ Instant Save vote in hopes of scoring a spot in the Season 24 finale.
The singers showed off their vocal chops with mesmerizing performances of “I Wanna Know” by Joe, “Go Rest High on That Mountain” by Vince Gill, “I Don’t Dance” by Lee Brice, “Alone” by Heart and “Mad World” by Tears for Fears, respectively.
Roar floored coach Reba McEntire with her soaring rendition of the Heart power ballad, earning a standing ovation from the country music icon.
“Girl, as John (Legend) would say, you were sangin’ tonight,” McEntire said. “If America doesn’t vote you through, I don’t know what to think. You’re good, you’re professional, you are a star.”
Who won the Instant Save on 'The Voice'?
Following their performances, the bottom four contestants gathered onstage for heart-to-hearts with their coaches ahead of host Carson Daly revealing the winner of the Instant Save vote.
Roar thanked McEntire for her attentiveness as a coach and for sharing her showbiz wisdom.
“I can’t thank you enough for just letting me email you over and over again and answering me, and just being a genuine coach and giving me solid advice that I can use for the rest of my career,” Roar said. “You are an incredible woman and an incredible artist. I respect you so much.”
The gratitude was mutual for McEntire, who reflected on the fulfillment she’d gotten from her relationship with the country-rock singer.
“My whole life has been enriched by getting to know you and watch you and see how you have blossomed with your training here,” McEntire said. “Everybody at ‘The Voice’ loves you and loves your talent. Whatever happens tonight, it ain’t going to stop.”
Roar’s journey on “The Voice” isn’t stopping anytime soon. The singer won the Instant Save, securing her spot in next week’s finale.
Earth, Wind & Fire, Keith Urban, more to perform on ‘The Voice’ finale
The top 5 singers aren’t the only ones who’ll be hitting “The Voice” stage during the Season 24 finale.
Several music superstars are slated to perform during the season’s conclusion Tuesday night, including R&B icon Earth, Wind & Fire. The Grammy-winning band will perform a medley of its biggest hits.
Country stars Keith Urban, Jelly Roll and Dan + Shay are also performing. Dan + Shay will be joining the coaches panel on “The Voice” next season as the singing competition’s first-ever coaching duo.
Indie pop band AJR and R&B singer Tyla will take the stage for performances as well.
